TIME TO TAKE UP

In 1996  a group of firefighters who developed a passion for thermal imaging in the fire service formed SAFE-IR Thermal Imager Training for the Fire Service .

Endorsed by every fire service thermal imaging camera manufacturer these experienced firefighter/ instructors were able to develop and provide manufacturer authorized, camera specific training .

Using a common sense, real life approach these instructors have trained firefighters from thousands of fire departments worldwide in the safe, tactical application of thermal imagers.

Their knowledge of thermal imagers and application became the catalyst for us to lobby for the standardization of fire service thermal imagers in an effort to enhance and simplify training and their use.

The result was that SAFE-IR became instrumental in the development of NFPA 1801 Standard on Thermal Imagers for the Fire Service representing end users-firefighters on the NFPA committee.

It is said that when it’s time to leave the fire service, it’s best to go out on your terms and to try to leave it better than you found it.

After much consideration and a heavy heart, we want to share that after 29 years, SAFE-IR will be closing on March 31st..

The dedication, passion and hard work delivered by every SAFE-IR  instructor during every training has been the core of our journey. In true fire service tradition, our firefighter/instructors attempted to always do the right thing and give 100%.

It’s been an incredible ride, with moments of joy, excitement, seemingly insurmountable odds, and invaluable learning. We're grateful beyond words for every moment.

To the members of the fire service and fire departments who have believed in us over the years: Thank you. Your trust in us along with your countless success stories of thermal imager use have been the driving force behind our every step.
